Hello everyone; it's finally fall and the weather has been nice lately. We are working hard, but are very excited about all the holidays that surround this time of year. Please remind your children to be on their best behavior everyday at school! Currently we are finishing up learning about Thomas Jefferson, which leads us into Lewis and Clark and Sacajawea. We even signed our name to the Declaration of Independence! The week before Thanksgiving we will be taking an "expedition" around the school to learn about the journey of Lewis and Clark and the Louisiana purchase, as well as make some trades with Sacajawea. In Science we will also learn about Sound, how it is made and how sounds help us. I n math, please continue to practice counting money, making fair trades, and recognizing shapes and solids. Keep reading every night with your children and remember to sign your child's folders and check for important communication from me or the school.
Your child has already brought home a pamphlet about his/her Square 1 art. Purchases from this program go to the art department to buy supplies for the children. Also, the Book Fair is coming! We saw the video today and will be making our wish lists next week on Wednesday. If you are able to come in on Wednesday the 11th from 10:10-10:30, we would love help with this! Also, I am able to make a wish list for the classroom. If you are able and would like to purchase a book for our classroom, we'd greatly appreciate it!
Teacher Fun-raisers are coming up. See flyer in your child's folder. The money goes to the Blackwell Foundation which purchases technology for the school.
Please turn in your child's Jump Rope for Heart permission slip that also came home on Monday.
